A Sacramento native, Amy Barkley Morris is a REALTOR® with the Downtown office of Lyon Real Estate the premier real estate company in the Sacramento area.

Amy was born into a family steeped in the agricultural packaging industry of California’s Central Valley. As a military spouse (and again, later, after the Navy), Amy traveled the country and moved herself and her family twenty-three times across five states, becoming adept at the art of military, government, and corporate relocations. (Yes, all three!) Along the way, Amy has bought and sold homes of her own, and became an “accidental landlord” and an inadvertent real estate investor. As a real estate client who is also a REALTOR®, she has been on both sides of the client/agent relationship; in fact it was her experiences as a client that made her want to become a real estate professional.

Over her own career, she has worked for the Department of Defense, owned her own Virtual Assistant business, and worked in corporate as well as academic environments. Each new adventure taught Amy how to listen to clients and customers to come up with creative ways to put their needs first. Entering the real estate industry as a Realtor, Amy was drawn to Lyon’s culture and values, which emphasize cooperation, respect, excellence, and family values.

In her personal and professional life, Amy’s goals are threefold: listen respectfully; speak honestly; and give the same effort that you expect in return.

We felt extremely lucky to meet Amy, and immediately were struck by her easygoing nature, passion for East Sac homes, and no-nonsense approach to house-hunting. We had previously experienced feeling pressured to buy above our price point or jump on a property we didn't feel certain about by other agents, and Amy was a breath of fresh air. She listened to us and worked within our limits, helped provide a voice of reason during difficult decisions, and made herself accessible to us (even early in the morning and during the weekends!). She made us feel like family and always greeted us with a warm smile, frequently making trips out of her way to preview houses for us. Our escrow experienced was greatly eased by knowing that Amy was looking over each detail and advocating on our behalf, making sure to consult with us on important matters. We have already recommended her to close friends and family. We wholeheartedly recommend her realtor services to others looking to purchase in the Sacramento area.

Amy Morris was an absolute joy to work with. Our Sacramento real estate market is insanely competitive. We put in offers on 5 houses before we finally got one. Amy did everything she could to help us get a home, including working well into the evening hours if necessary. She definitely went the extra mile. She was always realistic and honest even when we didn't necessarily want to hear it. She's smart and funny, too! Thank You, Amy!!

I met Amy a few years ago during an open house she was showcasing. I was searching for a realtor and had a few recommendations from family and friends; however, there was something about Amy that really captured my interest. So, I decided to follow my gut instinct, and I couldn't have been more spot on. I didn't end up buying at that time, but Amy always maintained contact with me. Quite unexpectedly, I decided to revisit the market a few months ago. Houses were selling like hotcakes, many of them going to cash buyers, and I was becoming a bit discouraged. But Amy remained steadfast and confident in her search. She continuously reassured me that we were going to find the perfect house. And that is exactly what she did... I just closed escrow a week ago and I feel extremely blessed and fortunate. The circumstances revolving the sale were unordinarily complicated. But Amy was absolutely phenomenal and got the job done. She was responsive, ethical, caring, knowledgeable, reliable, trustworthy, thorough, and is simply, an amazing person. She exceeded my expectations and will be my realtor for life. I highly recommend her, and quite honestly, feel she was heaven sent. - Kathleen N, Sacramento

I am writing today, simply to express my sincere gratitude for my agent, Amy Morris. I first met Amy a few years back, during an open house she was showcasing. Although I searched briefly, I didn't purchase a home at that time. But what I did gain during that brief time, was an agent-client relationship with Amy. What was completely unexpected, is that she would periodically reach out, say hello, and simply stay in touch. Approximately two years later, in late 2015, I decided to enter the market. Without hesitation, I phoned Amy for help. Although I shopped various lenders, I ended up choosing Vitek Mortgage Group. Amy referred me to Evelyne Jamet and her team, and they were fantastic - professional and thorough. Sure, there were other lenders that advertised a better rate, but with Vitek, my rate was still competitive and my loan approval was solid, allowing me the confidence to submit offers when ready. We then began to search... Within two months, I made offers on two homes. Both fell through. I was discouraged. But Amy continued to reassure me, and encouraged me to be patient. She continuously remained positive stating, "Don't worry. We will find you the perfect house." And she did. So, is it the house of my dreams? Of course not; I cannot currently afford the house of my dreams. But I love this home and it's the best value for what I can afford - best value meaning, the quality of the home, the location, how it fits my needs and wants, and the overall price. Amy scrutinized every aspect of this transaction to ensure that my interests were best served. However, she was fair, honest, and ethical towards the seller, as well. And that speaks volumes. For me, Amy was a Godsend. I recommend her to anyone who values an agent who is hardworking, trustworthy, ethical, responsive, and caring. She is truly not only an exceptional agent, but an exceptional human being. Thank you Amy, and thank you Lyon Real Estate.

Amy's sixth sense for my communication style, personal taste and housing needs were on par! She was great all around. Amy went above & beyond to make my first-time home-buyer experience such a positive one... she went to bat for me when things with the seller and house went sideways! I definitely appreciate her coming to my housewarming BBQ and her follow-up...

Helped me buy a home ~ I met Amy at an open house that I randomly walked into right after I decided to try to buy a home and I am so happy I did. I was a first time home buyer coming into the market right after the buyers a market ended and a sellers’ market began. We looked at one house, advised me it was a bad choice to put in an offer (it was at this point I knew she was the best Realtor, she wasn't looking to make just a commission, she was making sure I got a great deal). While the asking price was way under market, she advised that competition would be stiff and the fact that the A/C, Heater and dishwasher had been stolen just prior to us visiting the home, it would end up costing me more than just waiting a bit. I am so happy I listened to her. 2 weeks later a home came on the market, same floor plan and same neighborhood. While it was priced $25,000 more than the prior home, we looked at it, and talking over the pros and cons, I agreed (based on her recommendation) to put in a full price offer. While that may not seem like the best idea, I was in the process of buying my first home and had many friends were doing the same. All I was hearing from my friends was them losing in bidding wars and the home selling by 20k-30k over asking. So I followed Amy’s advice to put in a full ask price, as she said it was fair, and since given the circumstances, we were the first in with an offer, we could avoid the bidding war, I jumped on board. 45 days after following her advice, I closed on my first home. Granted, I always watched Home Hunters and all those flipping shows, I felt odd putting in a full price offer and not trying to get a lower price, but in the end, I am so happy I listened to Amy’s advice. A year prior, I could low ball the offer and be in a great position, but like I said before, the market had just changed and a low ball offer was not an option. And just to prove that Amy assisted me in making the right decision, since I've bought my home, 3 others of the same floor plan have sold, ranging from $9,500 to $35,000 more than I paid, and I have yet to be in this home for a year. The home that I first saw, while it was listed $25,000 under what I paid for my IDENTICAL home, it sold for $10,000 more than I paid for that IDENTICAL home (automatic appreciation within 2 months). Amy was always honest with me, telling me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear, which is what I needed. Had she told me what I wanted to hear, I would have put in a low ball offer, and I am convinced I would not have had a response from the seller had I done that. She pushed me when she knew I needed a push, and through the entire process as a first time home buyer held my hand when I needed it. I remember calling her after putting the offer in 48 hours before, thinking Id have an answer ASAP, and when I didn't, I called her and she was able to walk me through the process, inform me that the wait was not un-normal and she was able to get me to relax, and 24 hours later, she was right, it worked out and I was under contract. I was a first time home buyer, and I will point any first time home buyer to Amy as she knows what we want to hear, and what we need to hear, and she is excellent at finding the perfect way of telling us what we need to hear even if it is no what we want to hear. And if this is not your first home, her knowledge can’t be matched. She knows her limitations when it comes to certain neighborhoods, and when we looked in a neighborhood she knew but was not active in, she reached out to her contacts in the area to ensure I knew what was happening in that area and could make a knowledgeable decision. It takes a person with great integrity to tell you where they lack information and to go the extra step to find the information needed. I love what Amy did for me, I am happy in my first home (P.S. if it weren't for Amy, I would be priced out of this neighborhood, my house was the last one to sell in my price range). If I ever sell this home, Amy Morris would list it, and if I ever buy another home in the Sacramento Area (anywhere in the Sac Metro Area), I will be calling Amy to help me find my next home. If you are looking in multiple areas in Sacramento, Amy Morris is the Realtor you need, because she will do what is needed to ensure she knows the necessary information to ensure you know what you need to know to get the best deal and to be happy with the end result at closing and handing you the keys to your new home.

Amy was amazing to work with. She consistently worked to accommodate our needs and held our hand the entire way through. Only hiccup was the seller’s agent – I wish he was half as reliable as Amy! But of course little could be done about that!
